Photos last a lifetime. Your moments in the city need to be captured. Undeniably New York City is home to some of the worlds most photographed landmarks. From iconic buildings and bridges to landmark locations like Time Square, Grand Central Station and Central Park, there’s a lot to capture in the city.
Are all photos the same? That’s the question we asked ourselves before embarking on a photo safari with NYC Photo Safari.
Certainly all photos are NOT the same.
Photography loves rejoice! You can see NYC through the eyes, (and lens) of professional photographers thanks to NYC Photo Safari. Photography pros share their professional insight and insider tips with tourists and photography buffs alike. We fall into the tourist category, but were in good company with plenty of serious photography lovers.
What We Liked
Professional photography gear was not a must for this tour. While many participants brought a wide range of equipment, we were able to shoot using a smart phone. Our guide did an amazing job instructing us though how to use our chosen “Tool” to receive the best possible outcome. From lighting and perspective to focus and depth, it was amazing to learn from a professional photographer how to maximize images using a smart phone.
Added Bonus
Throughout the safari, our guide shared with us a great deal of history and interesting facts that only a true New Yorker would know. Not only did we learn how to see the city through new eyes we also learned some pretty amazing tidbits about our favorite icons.
Who is this safari for? Honestly, it’s for anyone wanting to truly capture New York. Sure we could roam the city on our own and snag pics, but we would have missed so many details in central park. It was so fun, and well worth the experience to slow down and focus on capturing forever memories.
As one of the highest rated photo tours in New York City, NYC Photo Safari has a broad mix for tourists and photography lovers to choose from, including weekend safari’s. And for the truly adventurous, they lead international photo safaris all over the world.
We don’t fall into the category of a hard core photographer, so we stuck to the daytime safaris. Our two favorites were the Brooklyn Bridge and Central Park safaris. Next on the list is the iconic photo tour which is a favorite among participants and one of their highest rated tours.
